Pumpkin Sriracha Hummus

pshummus

I know white people really like pumpkin flavored things. As a white woman, I admit, sometimes the craze goes a little overboard. Here’s a simple, easy, and cheap recipe that combines all the things white people like (pumpkin, sriracha, hummus) but doesn’t taste like something only a basic chick in Ugg boots would eat. It’s just damn good.

What You’ll Need:

  • 15 oz can garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas)
  • 1 cup of pumpkin puree
  • 2 tbs fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbs cumin
  • 1/2 tbs chili powder
  • 1/4 tbs smoked paprika
  • 3/4 tbs kosher salt
  • 2 tbs sriracha
  • 1/3 cup water
  • Chips or veggies for serving

Let’s Get Cooking:

  1. In a blender or food processor add all of the ingredients except the water.
  2. Turn the blender or food processor on and slowly add in the water until the hummus becomes smooth and creamy.
  3. Serve the hummus immediately with pita chip or vegetables, or refrigerate until you are ready to use it. Lasts about a week in the fridge.
